Khimera: Puzzle Island launched on November 29, 2020 as a complete nonogram puzzle game. Since launch, the developer has shipped two meaningful content additions: a fourth mosaic puzzle mode entry added on February 11, 2021 (version 1.4), and a full Japanese translation on January 29, 2022 (version 2.0). Beyond those additions, all subsequent updates have been maintenance-focused — bug fixes, quality-of-life tweaks, and minor feature adjustments. The most recent update, version 2.5 on June 7, 2026, was a small bug fix that the developer described as something they noticed while "replaying Puzzle Island for funsies," signed off with "thanks for playing my game" — the tone of someone maintaining a finished product rather than building toward more content. No future content has been announced, there are no unreleased DLC entries, and the developer has made no statements about upcoming additions. The only DLC is the soundtrack, which shipped the day after launch. The game's content has been complete since the Japanese translation rounded out the package in January 2022, with only occasional maintenance patches since.
