Evaluation
Long Live Santa! was released on December 19, 2017 as a free-to-play multiplayer experiment — the developer explicitly describes it as a "quick technical exercise" and "prototype" that they decided to publish rather than discard. From the outset, the intent was never to develop this as a long-running game but to learn multiplayer development principles ahead of adding multiplayer to their main title, Clone Drone in the Danger Zone.
The only post-launch update was a minor bug fix in January 2018 (version 0.1.0), fixing input registration and crash issues. In a December 31, 2018 post, the developer acknowledged fan interest in new content but was transparent that the small team's full attention was committed to Clone Drone, and that revisiting Long Live Santa! would only be possible "once we're further along in Early Access and/or have fully released Clone Drone." That conditional never appears to have been acted upon — the developer's last communication about this game was that December 31, 2018 post, and no further updates have followed.
The developer's own framing consistently treats Long Live Santa! as a finished, self-contained experiment. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no roadmap, no season pass, and no indication of any planned future content. The game shipped as a complete (if minimal) product and has remained unchanged since early 2018.
Evidence
Developer confirms they considered adding content in December 2018 but lacked the manpower to split from Clone Drone development. Revisiting Long Live Santa! is framed as a future possibility contingent on Clone Drone progress — not a commitment. Last official communication about this game.
Developer describes Long Live Santa! as a prototype and learning exercise for multiplayer development, now pivoting full attention to Clone Drone multiplayer. Expresses fondness for the game but no concrete plans for further development beyond a vague hope for 'next Christmas or Christmas in July.'
