Lost Castle / 失落城堡

Lost Castle launched on August 31, 2016 and received years of post-launch content updates. The first major paid DLC, "The Old Ones Awaken," shipped on September 29, 2020, adding new levels, bosses, enemies, and weapons. The game continued to receive feature patches, including Update V1.9 (June 24, 2020) and Patch 2.1 (August 23, 2021), the latter of which added 30 new weapons, 7 new bosses, and other content. On August 31, 2021, the developer explicitly stated this was the "FINAL big update for Lost Castle." This is a direct, unambiguous statement that content development for Lost Castle is complete. Both DLCs listed on the store — the Official Soundtrack (September 1, 2016) and The Old Ones Awaken (September 29, 2020) — have been released, which is consistent with this declaration. Developer activity seen after that point (a bug fix rollback notice in November 2024 and a small patch in March 2024) represents maintenance work only, not new content. Notably, the November 2024 post from publisher Neon Doctrine mentioned a "secret unannounced feature," but no such feature was ever announced or released, and the developer's own August 2021 final update declaration takes precedence. Hunter Studio's focus has clearly shifted to Lost Castle 2, which entered Steam Early Access on July 25, 2024 and reached its 1.0 launch on June 11, 2026. The original Lost Castle is a complete, finished game. All content has shipped, the developer confirmed it as the final update, and the studio has moved on to the sequel.
