Mortal Kombat 1

Mortal Kombat 1 launched on September 19, 2023 and has received a substantial amount of post-launch content over its lifecycle. The base game was followed by the Kombat Pack (launched at release), a steady stream of individual DLC fighters and kameos throughout 2023 and 2024, and then the Khaos Reigns expansion on September 24, 2024, which added a new story campaign, new arenas, animalities, and additional fighters. On May 15, 2025, NetherRealm Studios released the Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition — an upgrade pack that bundles the complete content package. This is the standard endpoint for NetherRealm fighting games: a definitive/complete edition marks the conclusion of the game's content lifecycle. All 28 DLC items listed on the store are released, with the Definitive Edition Upgrade being the most recent. The last DLC fighter (T-1000) shipped on March 25, 2025, and the last notable developer communication (the Definitive Edition launch trailer) is dated May 14, 2025. The developer's news posts since May 2025 pertain to a separate product — the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection announced on June 4, 2025 — which is a distinct game and not new content for MK1. No unreleased DLC remains, no future MK1 content has been announced, and the release of a Definitive Edition signals that the game's content is considered complete.
