Evaluation
Mortal Kombat 11 launched on April 23, 2019 and received a substantial post-launch content run that concluded in late 2020. The game's DLC history tells a clear story: Kombat Pack 1 (launched alongside the game) brought multiple guest and classic fighters through late 2019, the Aftermath expansion added a new story campaign and three fighters in May 2020, and Kombat Pack 2 — bundled in the Ultimate Add-On Bundle — delivered the final wave of fighters and cosmetics in November 2020. All 27 DLC items listed on the store are released, with the last ones shipping on November 17–25, 2020.
The developer's news activity on this Steam page since then has been almost entirely cross-promotional. Posts in late 2024 and early 2025 (NEWS-1, NEWS-4, NEWS-2) promote Mortal Kombat 1 and the upcoming Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection — a separate product — not any new content for MK11. The most recent MK11-specific action was a February 26, 2026 patch (NEWS-10) to achieve Steam Deck Verified certification, which is a compatibility/maintenance update, not new content.
NetherRealm Studios moved on to Mortal Kombat 1, which launched in 2023 and has its own active development cycle. MK11's content development wrapped with the Ultimate edition in November 2020, and no new content has been announced or shipped since.
