Mortal Kombat X

Mortal Kombat X launched on April 13, 2015 and received an active post-launch content cycle throughout 2015 and into 2016. Two Kombat Packs were released, bringing in guest characters like Jason Voorhees, Predator, Alien, and Leatherface, along with numerous skin packs and balance updates. The game's content culminated with the October 4, 2016 "Mortal Kombat XL" update, which brought PC players to parity with the console XL edition — bundling all 23 DLC items, adding enhanced netcode, and delivering the final balance patches. A follow-up bug fix on October 27, 2016 was the last developer communication specific to this game's development. All 23 DLC items are released, and no further content has been announced for Mortal Kombat X specifically. A June 4, 2025 news post announced the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection — a separate product covering the classic 1990s MK titles — which is unrelated to Mortal Kombat X's own content. A March 2025 franchise sale post also mentioned MKX only in the context of a promotional discount. Neither post indicates any new content coming to MKX itself. Mortal Kombat X is a complete, finished product. The full content package was delivered by October 4, 2016, and the game has received no new content since then.
