Evaluation

Nephise: Ascension is the third entry in the Nephise series by solo developer Tonguç Bodur, released on February 27, 2018 as a self-contained, story-complete walking simulator. The store description presents it as a finished narrative experience with a defined beginning and end — there is no mention of planned expansions, additional chapters, or post-launch content of any kind. The developer's post-launch activity on this game's news page consists entirely of announcements for other, separate games in his portfolio — including The Dead Tree of Ranchiuna (February 2019), Bottle: Pilgrim Redux (a major update to a different game, November 2020), Cions of Vega (March 2021), The Redress of Mira (June 2022), Run Tekila Run! (December 2023), NubiaPhobia and FORMIDO (September 2025), and most recently Reflections at Frostkorn (June 2026). None of these posts reference any new content planned for Nephise: Ascension itself. There are no DLC listings, no season pass, no roadmap, and no developer statement suggesting that Nephise: Ascension would receive any post-launch additions. The game launched as a complete, self-contained product, and all developer energy since release has been directed toward new standalone titles. Nephise: Ascension is a finished game.

About this game

“Nephise was a young orb collector. One day, while searching for orbs, she got lost and fell down a hole into Dragons Valley. The only exit was via the High Grounds, but there was no easy way up there. She came upon a vast lake. She unmoored a boat near to the shore, and sailed it to the other side…”
