Pet Shop Simulator launched on June 21, 2024, and has received a steady stream of updates since then. Shortly after launch, the team added dogs to the game in response to player feedback (June 26, 2024), followed by further bug fixes and gameplay improvements (August 30, 2024), and a Christmas-themed event with new permanent items (December 19, 2024). On May 9, 2025, the developer announced that a free content update is "almost ready," teasing new objects, new ways to customize the shop, and a special new animal visitor. This update has not yet been released as of today (June 21, 2026), meaning there is confirmed unshipped content the developer has publicly committed to delivering. The developer has remained engaged with the game throughout its post-launch life, and the May 2025 announcement represents an explicit, unfulfilled content commitment.
