Evaluation

Project AURA launched its 1.0 release on April 17, 2018, graduating out of Early Access. Following launch, the developer shipped a feature patch (Patch 1.1) on May 31, 2018 and a final bug-fix/balance patch (Patch 1.1.10) on October 27, 2019. That October 2019 post is notable for another reason: the developer explicitly stated they are working on a new, separate game project inspired by Project AURA, describing it as moving "from micro-management to management" in "a totally new world context." This signals that the team's attention has shifted to a successor project, not continued development of Project AURA itself. There have been no developer communications of any kind since October 27, 2019 — nearly seven years of silence as of June 2026. All four DLC items (colonist packs) were released simultaneously at launch in March 2018 and no additional DLC has been listed or announced. The combination of an explicit pivot statement toward a new game, the absence of any post-launch roadmap commitments still outstanding, and over six years of complete silence all point clearly to Project AURA being a finished, complete product with no further content planned.
Evidence
Patch 1.1.10 released — the developer's last official communication. The post states they are working on a new game project based on Project AURA, effectively signaling a pivot away from continued development of this game.

About this game

PROJECT AURA is a simulation/strategy videogame where you take control of a colony of climate disaster survivors.

In the near future, humans will face the drastic consequences of climate change. Forced to take refuge in vital reserves using cryo-preservation, they await a second chance.

At the end of the 21st century, humans — finally aware of the great climate disaster — dedicated their efforts not on preventing the inevitable crisis, but to ensure the survival of the species itself.
In this endeavor, they embarked on the construction of a network of cities on the sea, resistant to the hostile atmosphere.
Overtaken by the events and extreme food shortage, they built ultra-secret shelters that would support them in hibernation, to be awakened in a more favorable situation.
