Tharsis launched on January 11, 2016 and received a series of bug fixes and feature patches in the weeks following release. The developer then shipped a substantial update on August 2, 2016 that added new missions, a revamped tutorial, unlockable content, and difficulty adjustments. That August 2016 patch represents the last meaningful update to Tharsis itself. Since then, Choice Provisions has moved on to other projects — most recently, a November 2023 news post on the Tharsis page was used to promote their entirely separate game, BIT.TRIP RERUNNER. There have been no announcements of new Tharsis content, no unreleased DLC listed on the store, and no developer statements suggesting further development. The game launched as a complete, self-contained experience and received its final content additions in August 2016.
Evidence
Large patch shipped adding new missions, revamped tutorial, unlockable skull avatars, and difficulty improvements. This is the last Tharsis-specific update on record.
The Tharsis news feed was used to promote BIT.TRIP RERUNNER, a separate Choice Provisions game. No mention of any new Tharsis content — the developer's attention has clearly moved on.
