Evaluation

The Last Blade 2 is a port of SNK's classic 1998 NEOGEO fighting game, released on Steam on November 17, 2017. The game launched as a complete, self-contained product — a faithful port of the original arcade title with the addition of online multiplayer. Post-launch activity was limited but meaningful: on May 9, 2020, SNK pushed a notable technical update that overhauled the online netcode to use rollback technology (a significant quality-of-life improvement for online play), along with several interface improvements. The only DLC ever released is a standalone soundtrack pack, which shipped on May 24, 2023. There are no unreleased DLC items listed, no roadmaps or announcements of future content, and no developer communications since the soundtrack release. SNK has not signaled any plans for additional content. The game is treated as a complete product — a preservation and online-enhanced port of a beloved classic.
