Capsa launched on Steam in Early Access and officially left Early Access on February 3, 2022, entering what the developer described as a "Beta" phase with a promise of further updates. The game has a long history of content development, with major updates shipping in June 2019, October 2019, November 2020, and then the engine-migration update in February 2022. The last developer communication of any kind was a minor bug fix on May 7, 2023, which fixed a small crab animation issue and made engine updates. Since May 7, 2023, the developer has posted nothing — no updates, no roadmap, no explanation. As of June 2026, that represents over three years of complete silence. The developer has never announced that the game is finished or that development has concluded. The February 2022 post explicitly stated "there will, of course, be further updates," but none have materialized beyond a single small bug fix over a year after that statement. All eight DLC packs listed on the store are released, so there is no concrete announced content waiting to ship. However, the developer's own statement that updates would continue, combined with the total absence of any communication since May 2023, creates genuine uncertainty about whether the game is still being maintained or developed. The game is still available for purchase and playable, but potential buyers should be aware that the developer has been completely silent for an extended period with no explanation.
