Evaluation
Drift King launched out of Early Access on July 27, 2022 and built up a strong history of content updates spanning from at least November 2021 through April 2024. Across 49 developer posts, the game received 20 major content releases and 22 feature patches — a very active update record that included new cars, maps, game modes like Gymkhana, engine sounds, and gameplay systems.
To establish the update cadence: the 20 major content releases span roughly from December 2021 through the full release in July 2022 and beyond. Looking at the visible posts, major content arrivals were frequent in the 2021–2022 period (multiple per year), and the pattern continued at a slower pace post-launch. The last known developer communication of any kind was the feature patch on April 15, 2024 (version 1.2.1.0). As of October 1, 2026, that is approximately 29 months of complete silence — well beyond any reasonable interpretation of the historical update window, even at the slowest observed intervals between updates.
The developer has never posted an explicit "development is complete" statement, but the September 2023 post about removing the demo due to Unity's pricing changes was a minor housekeeping note, not a crisis signal. The absence of any announcement of future content, combined with 29 months of silence following a pattern where updates previously arrived every few months, indicates that development has effectively concluded. The April 15, 2024 feature patch is the most recent released content, making it the most reasonable anchor for when the game's content cycle ended.
Evidence
Version 1.2.1.0 released with car price adjustments, garage fix, and minor bug fixes. This is the last developer communication on record.
Game officially left Early Access with a new open world Neon City map added.
