F1 2016 is no longer available for purchase on Steam — no purchase options exist on the store page. The game launched on September 7, 2016 as a complete, officially licensed recreation of the 2016 Formula One season. Codemasters released several patches in the months following launch, addressing bugs, adding minor features, and improving performance. The final patch (1.08) shipped on January 31, 2017 and fixed a tyre wear issue. A November 2017 post celebrated the game winning a Best Racing Game award at the TIGA Awards, but explicitly framed F1 2016 as a past achievement, noting the team had already moved on to F1 2017. There has been no developer communication about F1 2016 since November 2017, and no DLC or additional content was ever announced. The game launched as a complete, season-specific product and received only maintenance patches before support ended.
