On March 12, 2019, OnSkull Games explicitly announced that they were releasing Fovos VR out of Early Access and simultaneously ending all development on it. Their post stated directly: "We have decided to release FovosVR and to stop working on it." The developer explained that the game no longer represented their current capabilities and that they had shifted focus to other projects. They added any remaining prepared content, made the game free-to-play, and preserved the older Early Access build on a legacy branch. This is an unambiguous, developer-confirmed conclusion of development. Subsequent posts from the studio (September 2021 and May 2025) confirm the team has moved on entirely to new projects — none of which involve Fovos VR. The game is complete as of its March 12, 2019 release date, with no further content planned or expected.
