Evaluation

Allumeria entered Steam Early Access on August 28, 2026 — just one day before today's assessment date. This is an explicitly unfinished game by design. The developer (a solo developer operating as Infinimelon) has been actively and transparently communicating throughout the game's development. The Early Access launch at version 0.15 includes three biomes (forest, snow, and desert), an NPC/housing system, multiplayer, and a large suite of weapons, enemies, and mechanics. However, the developer has been clear that this is a starting point, not a finished product. In the August 13, 2026 release date announcement, the developer stated that after the initial post-launch bug-fixing period, the focus for Early Access will be "fleshing out the existing content and improving side systems," and described a substantial amount of content "left on the cutting room floor." The developer noted this in the context of having worked hard to deliver a solid foundation, but being eager to keep expanding the game. The game has a strong prior update history: a public playtest and demo phase spanning from at least November 2025 through August 2026, with regular feature patches (terrain reworks, stamina systems, asset packs, forest dungeon overhauls, multiplayer) and two major content milestones (the demo launch in January 2026 and the Early Access launch in August 2026). This demonstrates a developer who ships updates consistently and communicates openly about what is coming next. Dedicated server support was specifically called out as planned but not yet implemented. The developer also mentioned wanting to hire a composer for a full soundtrack once the game generates revenue — further indicating this is an ongoing, evolving project. There is no announced completion date, no "final update" language, and no indication the developer considers the game feature-complete. Allumeria is an actively developed Early Access title with a clear intent to continue building out its content.

About this game

Allumeria takes a classic voxel sandbox and combines it with in-depth progression through exploration, dungeon crawling and boss battles. You will constantly be discovering new weapons, abilities, resources, enemies, structures, mechanics and tools. The game has a strong focus on discovery and creative freedom.

Advanced Building Tools

Allumeria provides advanced building tools not present in other games. You can change the shape of any block on the fly. Want glass stairs? Want a dirt fence? You can do it! Allumeria has a full RGB light engine. Create dimly lit cozy cabins, or bright neon cities. Monsters only spawn on natural blocks, so you are free to experiment with dark and light! The Paint Roller allows you to paint ANY block in the game, with no limitations. Want to use bricks, but grey isn't your style? Just paint them blue! Multiple palettes are available, from colourful, to earthy, to pastel.

Depth, not Breadth

Allumeria focuses on providing an in-depth experience for every biome. Your story starts in the forest biome, and you will travel to other biomes in a quest to become more powerful. Each biome has brand new resources, enemies, mechanics, dungeons and bosses, top to bottom. A single biome represents an entire new chapter of your story, not just a new grass colour.

Combat and Variety

Allumeria has a simple but diverse combat system. As you progress, more abilities and weapons open up. Start with simple swords and crossbows, then expand your arsenal with explosive bombs, shock arrows, fart guns, snowball cannons, boomerangs, shuriken launchers, frying pans, baguettes, and a myriad of other wacky items. You will uncover equippable trinkets that expand your movement abilities, allowing you to sprint, granting regeneration, gliding, flying, jumping and climbing.

Early Access

Allumeria is an Early Access game. This means the game is going to continue being updated with new content and fixes to improve it even more, with community feedback in mind. The game has already been shaped by many peoples ideas, suggestions and bug reports, and it will continue to improve with your help. The game is already packed full of content, but there is so, so much room to grow.
